One Whisper

When my son was young, I used to tell him,

“We’re not in control; God is. One Whisper from Him can make the seemingly impossible a reality.”

Over the years, I’ve repeated this truth to him, but more often to myself — though now it’s often the abridged version: "One Whisper."

Whenever life feels overwhelming, I hold on to "One Whisper."

Whenever I feel like I’m falling behind, I remind myself of "One Whisper."

Whenever I survive a close call, my heart clings to "One Whisper."

Whenever a freak snowstorm hits South Louisiana, I laugh and think of "One Whisper."

It’s a reminder that all good things come from God.

All. Good. Things.

Always.

Do I feel deserving of these blessings? Nope.

But that’s part of the beauty — Grace doesn’t wait for us to earn it.

It’s given freely, in whispers that can change everything.
