(Honoring our military is always a good idea.)
Some experiences move you in unexpected ways, and this airshow was one such surprising event that caught me off guard.
I'll pepper this post with a video (above) and a few pictures, but nothing compares to being there and watching the pilots do the impossible with these planes. While you can hear the sound in the video, it really can't compare to being there when those fighter jets fly over. You feel it in every cell!
Having never been to an airshow, I was clueless about what to expect. I didn't know there'd be an announcer, great music, aerobatic pilots (search Kyle Fowler Long EZ), people parachuting in, and even a truck with flames shooting out the back racing against a plane! There was also an abundance of food.

I spent most of the day in awe, and at one point, my husband, who gets (somewhat) dragged along to various places, hugged me and said, "Thank you for getting us here. This is so amazing!"
I had NEVER been hugged for one of my venue selections. Not once! In that moment, I knew exactly how he felt. I could have hugged myself for a job well done!
More importantly, seeing and hearing our military honored was an incredible opportunity. I was near a few military retirees seated in the front row, and many of the pilots, when they were done flying, would walk over, shake their hands, and take pictures with them. The mutual respect was on display, and it nearly brought me to tears. The saying, "We don't know them all, but we owe them all," is an absolute fact.
May God bless the United States Military.
I will definitely travel to see an airshow again—it was an incredible experience! (Now, the line for the bus to take us back to the parking lot was soooo long, so I'll be better prepared next time!)

Above: The Blue Angels are phenomenal and closed the show, but there were so many more awe-inspiring moments before they ever hit the skies!

Above: Nope, I did not invert the picture. They're flying upside down! No CGI! No AI! Just skill!

Above and Below: I can't even walk next to someone without knocking into them, and these pilots FLY this close to each other and do maneuvers. Y'all. I dropped my jaw six-thousand times. Not exaggerating.

Above: An F something... my favorites.

Above: Blue Angels - I had seen many videos of them flying, but nothing, and I mean nothing, even closely represents the sights and sounds of being there.

Above: Honoring the past by flying a WWII plane alongside an F-something. (Maybe a WWII Mustang and an F16... maybe.)
